PURPOSE:To automate manual complicate operation and to save its labor, and to duplicate and record various original pictures having different characteristics on invariably desirable conditions by setting scan condition data stored in every scan on each original pictures in an image scan recording device and performing scan recording, and duplicating and recording plural original pictures successively. CONSTITUTION:An operator mounts plural original pictures to be processed at a time on an original picture cylinder 2 and sets previously indicated condition data on magnification, etc., on a keyboard, and the data are stored in a scan data processing part 14. The scan data processing part 14 makes the 1st photoelectric scan to obtain the best highlight, shadow point, optimum gradation correction curve, and color correction data on each original picture from obtained image data and store them as scan condition data on each original picture. The scan data processing part 14 makes the 2nd photoelectric scan to set optimum scan condition data on the original picture which is obtained at the 2nd stage in a magnification conversion arithmetic part 16 at every start of scan recording of each original picture, and the most desirable duplicate image is recorded on a recording film 26 mounted on a recording cylinder 24.
