CONTINUOUS CASTING MOULD FOR PRODUCING THIN INGOTS
摘要
20337-358 The narrow width dimension of a continuous casting mold is widened, at least in the mold centre, to facilitate charging of the mold. More particularly, the long (wide) surfaces of the mold are concentric at the lower part of the mold but at the upper part of the mold one of the curved surfaces merges tangentially with a straight portion. In a preferred embodiment, the concave (outer) surface is the one which merges tangentially and the transition point is below a horizontal line intersecting the concave surface.
