PURPOSE:To facilitate the working of assembly of a muffler, by forming a stopper part at one end of an outer box made of molded sound absorbing materials, and by disposing inside component members for the muffler in the outer box, making one part thereof abut against the stopper, while the inside component members are held at the other end of the outer box. CONSTITUTION:A front end plate 7 which is one of inside component members 4 through 9 is made abut againt a stopper part 2 which is formed at one end of an outer box 1 made of molded sound absorbing materials, and a rear end plate 9 is held at the other end 1a of the box 1. With this arrangement, the inside component part may be integrally incorporated with the outer box 1 with no use of fasteners such as, for example, bolts, and the number of necessary component parts may be reduced to facilitate the working of assembly of the muffler. |
