PURPOSE:To operate the automatic original feeding device in selected mode and inhibit it from operating unless the state of a mode selection switch corresponds to the state of a switch operated according to the enlargement or reduction of an original receiving tray by corresponding the both state. CONSTITUTION:When original 2 are smaller than the size of an original platen 1, the original receiving tray 3 is contracted, namely, a movable tray 9 is folded and the originals 2 are placed thereupon, and the mode selection switch 5 is set to an automatic feed mode. At this point of time, an ADF display device 6 illuminates and originals 2 are fed, sheet by sheet, onto the original platen 1 and copied. If the original receiving tray 3 is expanded or if the mode selection switch 5 is set to a synchronous feed mode by mistake, none of the originals 2 is fed. When the originals 2 are larger than the original platen 1, the original receiving tray 3 is expanded, namely, a movable tray 9 is expanded and the originals 2 are mounted thereupon, and the mode selection switch 5 is set to the synchronous feed mode. |
