AQUEOUS GEL COMPOSITIONS DERIVED FROM SUCCINOGLYCAN Novel aqueous gel compositions, derived by crosslinking a microbially-synthesized polysaccharide of the succinoglycan or related type by means of a polyvalent metal cation, are useful as permeability control agents in secondary recovery operations in the recovery of petroleum from subterranean hydrocarbon-bearing formations.
