UPSETTING DEVICE FOR PRESSES

Crankshafts are forged complete with crank webs by gripping a round steel bar at both ends in an upsetting machine. The central part is first forged in a direction opposite the intended crank connection and bulges are formed on both sides of a bending tool. After removal of the forging tool head, the bending tool is raised and procedures in conjuction with the continued upsetting the final complete crankshaft.
