PURPOSE:To register simply the secret number of an IC card by its owner himself without showing the number to other persons and to prevent the registered secret number from being recognized by other persons by forming a secret number registration part on the identification card so as to be separated. CONSTITUTION:After registering the secret number on the identification card 1, the secret number registration part 4 is separated from the card 1 by a hand or scissors or the like, and then only the identification card 1 is used. Since the registration part 4 is separated from the card 1, power supply to an EP-ROM17 is interrupted and the succeeding writing of the secret number is made impossible. When the identification card 1 in which the secret number is registered is used, an electronic circuit in the card 1 is connected to a computer through a connector part 2. Then, an operation control part 11 reads out the secret No. from the EP-ROM17 on the basis of an instruction from the computer. The read-out secret number is sent to the computer through a P/S conversion part 19, an external interface 20 and a connector part 2. |
