PURPOSE:The ammonia-lyase which is obtained from a microorganism in Cladosporium, capable of producing L-phenylalanine, is used to increase enzyme activity and improve activity duration, resulting in high-efficiency production of the titled compound from cinnamic acid and ammonia. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism in Cladosporium, capable of producing L- phenylalanine from cinnamic acid and ammonia, such as Cladosporium cladosporioides C-5056 (FERM P-7704) is used to obtain ammonia-lyase and the enzyme is used to effect reaction between cinnamic acid and ammonia, usually at a pH of 8-11 and 20-60 deg.C to give the objective compound. |
