PURPOSE:To enhance resolving power, by constituting an electrophoretic medium from a polyacrylamide aqueous gel prepared by the crosslinking polymerization of an acrylamide copolymer and an acrylamide compound in the presence of water. CONSTITUTION:An acrylamide copolymer, which has a constitutional repeating unit represented by either one of formulae I, II [wherein R<11> and R<21> are H or an 1-6C alkyl group, Q<1> is an arylene group having -COO-, L<2> is a divalent group having -COO-, R<12> and R<22> are -CH=CH2, A<1> and A<2> is the divalent group derived from the ethylenic unsaturated monomer copolymerizable with each monomer represented in the left side thereof, x<1> and x<2> are 50-99mol%, y<1> and y<2> are 1-50mol% and z<1> and z<2> are the balanced value], and an acrylamide compound are subjected to crosslinking polymerization in the presence of water to prepare a polyacrylamide aqueous gel. By using this aqueous gel as an electrophoretic medium, high resolving power is shown and processability becomes well. |
