PURPOSE:To calculate the tension distribution of a strip in the lateral direction from a displacement amount, by supporting a ring divided into a plurality of pieces in the axial direction by a fixed support member in a freely rotatable manner and providing a non-contact type displacement detector in each ring. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of brackets 2 are secured to a support member 1 at required intervals in the longitudinal and circumferential directions thereof and the inner periphery of a thin annular ring periphery of a thin annular ring 4 split into a plurality of pieces in the axial direction is supported in a freely rotatable manner by a small caliber roller 3 and a non-contact type displacement detector 6 for detecting the displacement amount of each ring 4 is arranged between each ring 4 and the support member 1. At the time of rolling work, the displacement amount of the strip ring 4 is detected and the tension distribution of the strip (s) in the lateral direction is calculated by operation and the cross- sectional shape of a rolled material can be known accurately. |
