PURPOSE:To prolong a nip time and reduce press-contacting force by turning an endless belt which conveys recording paper in contact with a heat roller through two rollers, and reducing the tension of the belt between the rollers almost to zero. CONSTITUTION:The endless belt 20 which turns as shown by an arrow A while contacting the heat roller 17 having a heat source 18 to an angle theta is provided. The belt 20 is extended loosely between rollers 21 and 22 fitted turnably to support plates 25 and 26. The support plates 25 and 26 are fitted to a housing 36 with pins 27 and 28 and energized by springs 23 and 24, reducing the tension of the belt 20 almost to zero. A sheet 38 is conveyed while heated during the period of an angle theta between the heat roller 17 and belt 20. Further, the temperature of the heat roller 17 is detected by a sensor 31 and the heat source 18 is controlled by a control part (not show in figure). Consequently, the nip time is prolonged, the press-contacting force is decreased, and the device is reduced in size. |
