<p>PURPOSE:To enable a continuous measurement by providing a measuring pipe connecting through the side wall part of a molten metal container, a measuring window of a heat resistant transparent body sealing the other end thereof, a radiant thermometer adjoining with the window thereof and the purge piping connecting through with an inert gas supply source with branching from the measuring pipe. CONSTITUTION:An inert gas of Ar, etc. is purged with the prescribed pressure and flow rate by providing a purge piping 5 so that a molten metal 2 is not flowed out and also serving for cooling a measuring pipe 4 as well, as well as providing the measuring pipe 4 lower than the level of the molten metal surface of the side wall part of the molten metal container 1 consisting of an iron shell 11 and inner lining refractory material 12. The radiant heat is also passed through to a measuring chamber from a measuring window 8 consisting of a light transmitting ceramic, etc. and converted into a temp. detecting signal by a radiant thermometer 6. The relation between the temp. detecting signal transmitted from the thermometer 6 being comparated in advance and the temp. of the molten metal is stored in a signal processing device 9, and based on the stored data thereof and the temp. detecting signal of the actual measuring time, it is outputted to a display device 10 as the temp. of the molten metal 2.</p> |
