PURPOSE:To prevent the temperature in the empty part of the tower from falling lower than the critical temperature by arranging divided air chambers to surround a water pipe wall relative to an air chamber under a multiple hole plate, and by suspending the air supply to the small air chambers under low boiler load conditions to form a static layer so as to settle flying medium from the fluidized bed layer. CONSTITUTION:Auxiliary air chambers 8 are arranged to surround a main air chamber 7. As the boiler load decreases, dampers 11a, 11b are fully closed to suspend the supply of fluidizing gas, and at the same time, the supply of fuel F from nozzles 9a, 9b is stopped. Because of this, a static layer 13 is formed along the water pipe wall 5 in the upper part of the auxiliary air chambers 8. Due to the flying medium, the static layer 5 settles to cover the water pipe wall 5. As the settled layer has a heat insulating function, the thermal recovery by the water pipe wall is reduced, and the reduction of the temperature thereof is decreased, avoiding the reduction of CO oxidization. |
