<p>PURPOSE:To enable the shift copying with any change in the plate way and plate width by controlling the shifting position by the signal of a plate end and plate thickness detecter provided on a moving frame being arranged so as to pinch a rolling plate to the downstream of a shift rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:Moving frames 7, 7 of U shape pinching a rolling plate S are arranged oppositely to the downstream of a shift rolling mill 4 and made movable in the plate width direction with the driving of a pulse cylinder 9 respectively. Plate thickness detectors 13, 14 are respectively fitted to the tip part, and the up-and-down opposing position of the medium part of each frame, and plate end detectors 13, 14 are fitted respectively to the medium part and the up-and-down opposing positions of the base end part of each frame. An arithmetic controller 15 transmits a driving signal to the cylinder 9 based on the signal transmitted from the detectors 13, 14 and transmits a shift command to the shift device 3 of the rolling mill 4 based on the signal transmitted from detectors 11, 12 to shift a work roll 1.
