PURPOSE:To provide a floating construction method for a tank roof which can be applied to the construction of a single roof by forming a closed space below the roof and floating the roof by utilizing buoyancy of the closed space to eliminate the need of doubling the roof to have buoyancy. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary plate 5 for floating is fixed like a skirt to the lower surface of the peripheral portion of a tank roof 3, and water is poured in the inside of a membrane 2 from the outside through a water injection pipe 6. At the time of a leak test by filling water, the space formed between the inner surface of the roof 3 and the water level when the lower end of the auxiliary plate 5 for floating is sunk in water is closed up tight by the auxiliary plate 5 for floating, so that the roof 3 is floated by utilizing buoyancy in the closed space. When the roof 3 is floated up to the position of a compression ring 4, the compression ring 4 and the roof 3 are welded. Thus, the construction of the roof 3 is completed. |
