PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as an intermediate for synthesizing drugs, agricultural chemicals, dye, functional polymers, organic electrically- conductive materials, etc., by a reacting an allyl halide with a cyanic ester in the presence of a specific palladium catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An allyl halide shown by the formula I or formula II (Ar is aryl, or arylene; X is halogen; Y is O-, -S-, or alkylene; m is 1, or 2; n is 0, 1) is reacted with a cyanoacetic ester shown by the formula III (R' is alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl) by a bivalent or zerovalent palladium compound shown by the formula L2Pd(II)X* or L4Pd(O)[L is ligand shown by the formula IV (Z is P, As, etc.; R<2>-R<4> are alkyl, aryl, etc.); X* is halogen, etc.] as a catalyst in the presence of a basic condensation agent e.g., Na in a solvent at 50-80 deg.C to give aimed compound shown by the formula V or formula VI. |
