PURPOSE:To eliminate a rotation waiting for processing a defective sector by using a substitute sector as the next sector, when the defective sector has existed. CONSTITUTION:In case a control device 51 searches a designated sector, and executes write, a processor 54 sets an operation of the control device 51, and sends a logical address part 6 to a device 52. Also, as for the device 52, whether write is good or not is decided by a verifying circuit in a processor by a verifying signal sent through a connecting line 104, a code 8 which is good or not is sent to the device 52, and subsequently, an error detecting code (ECC) to each data 6-8 is sent and written to the device 52. In this case, in case a result of verification is negative, a data stored in a buffer 53 is written in the next sector instead of a data sent from a channel. If a defective sector exists, its substitute sector is assigned to the next sector. |
