The device comprises an aerial 1 consisting of at least four elementary sources A, B, C, D in order to produce a sum signal SIGMA and two difference signals DELTA 1 and DELTA 2 relative to two symmetry planes of the aerial P1, P2 or P'1, P'2. The control channel 2 comprises a circuit 4 for shifting the relative phase of one of the difference signals with respect to the other by pi and an adding circuit 5 which delivers the control signal GAMMA . A circuit 6 for processing the sum signals SIGMA and the control signal GAMMA is connected to the control channel. The processing circuit 6 consists of a single-pulse deviation sensing receiver and gives information about the elevation and bearing of the target when it is treated as a point source.
