An adhesive composition comprising either (i) a latex polymer having a Tg from -10 DEG C to 25 DEG C or (ii) a mixture of soft latex polymer and hard latex polymer, each polymer being either (1) a copolymer of quaternary monomer prepared by reacting an epihalohydrin of the formula <CHEM> with a salt of an amine of the formula RN(R min )CH3, or (2) A reaction product of a copolymer of such an amine salt and such an epihalohydrin; wherein R is an ethylenically unsaturated organic group, R min is a linear (C1 to C4)-alkyl group, optionally hydroxy-substituted, X is chlorine, bromine or iodine. The compositions are useful in bonding a flexible covering layer, such as fabric covered polyurethane foam, to a rigid substrate such as glass fibre mat to produce laminates including automotive headliners and acoustic panels. |
