The invention relates to a tooling instrument I made up of a cylindrical pump body 1 externally defining a manual grasping member and internally defining a chamber 2 for the accumulation of pressurised fluid 7 in which a piston 3 moves, interacting with the two jaws 4a and 4b of an interchangeable tool 4 installed in a tool-carrying head 6 mounted at one end 1a of the pump body 1. The displacements of this piston 3 are controlled by a pumping system 8 whose mechanism, enclosed in a tubular end piece 1b fitted to the other end of the pump body 1 the extension of which it constitutes, is actuated by an external handle 10 parallel to the longitudinal axis of the said instrument and articulated at one of its ends along an angular expansion perpendicular to the said axis. This instrument is noteworthy in that it comprises a reserve chamber 12 of fluid 7 made in the abovementioned tubular end piece 1b and connected to the abovementioned chamber 2 by two ''inlet'' 9 and ''return'' 15 ducts for the fluid 7. The duct 9 is equipped with a set of two non-return valves 13a and 13b between which the mechanism of the abovementioned pumping system 8 is installed, whereas the duct 15 is provided with a stopper member 15a which can be manoeuvred by the user of the instrument I. Applications of the instrument of the invention: cutting concrete wires in industry, vine tendrils in viticulture, boat cables. <IMAGE>
