<p>An Archimedean screw 1, (2, Fig. 5) has a plurality of cutting elements 7 mounted thereon, the elements 7 being substantially circular and located one after the other in succession on the outer cutting edges of the Archimedean screw, the cutting elements being fixed in such a way that they jut or extend out beyond the edges of the screw. The screw may be used to collect and cut filamentous material, e.g. herbage for use as cattle feed. The cutting elements may be rotated in order that a used-up cutting part thereof may be replaced by an efficient cutting part. <IMAGE></p> |
