PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity for using an expensive A/D converter, by adding a value, corresponding to a number of waveform peaks exceeding a predetermined level, to and subtracting the value from a knocking detection signal while calculating the average value of a knocking waveform used for generating a knocking detection level. CONSTITUTION:This detecting device of knocking in an electronic ignition timing control system equips a knocking detector 1 which detects a vibrative noise or the like by knocking of an engine. While this device equips a filter circuit 2 through which only the knocking frequency component of specific frequency passes by removing a low and high frequency noise component of the knocking detection signals. And this detecting device, which outputs a decision pulse by comparing in a comparator 5 the knocking detection signal passing the filter circuit 2 with an output signal of a resistance random access discrete address (RADA)7 D/A converting a digital signal showing a knocking decision level from a microcomputer 6, is constituted so as to correct an ignition signal in accordance with the counting result of said decision pulse. |
