This heat pump operates according to a permanent gas cycle, in a closed circuit. A rotor 3, driven in rotation by a motor 26, has an envelope 5 inside which a gaseous fluid is enclosed, which fluid circulates radially between a first heat exchanger 6 situated in the central portion and a second heat exchanger 7 situated at the periphery of the rotor 3. A fan 13 rotates inside the rotor, which itself rotates in a stator 1 having an envelope 16 with which there are associated, towards the centre, the cold source 28 and, towards the periphery, the hot source 29. Between the envelope 16 of the stator 1 and the envelope 5 of the rotor 3 there is trapped a gas ensuring heat transfers between the cold source 28, the gaseous fluid of the rotor 3 and the hot source 29. <IMAGE>
