The cattle grid e.g. is used as a floor in a pig stable. It consists of transverse bars carrying a number of closely spaced, e.g. 4-12 mm, pref. around 8 mm, longitudinal bars (3) with a cross-section having a flat upper surface. - The surfaces of at least some of these bars (3) are provided with spaced projecting portions (5). The width, in longitudinal bar (3) direction, is pref. 1-3 mm and the height 0.8-1.4 mm whilst the spacing (6) is 20-30 mm.
