The cooling centrifuge (10) has a working chamber (18) which is insulated against heat loss and can be cooled by means of condenser cooling coils (30), arranged in the said centrifuge, of a cooling unit (36), and in which a centrifuge rotor (20) is arranged detachably on the free end of a drive shaft (22), which is guided in a sealed fashion through the wall of the chamber into its interior, of a drive motor (24). The drive shaft (22) passes through the wall (14) of the working chamber (18) sealed in a vacuum-tight fashion or can be sealed in a vacuum-tight fashion after the centrifuge rotor (20) is removed. Furthermore, the suction line (40) of a vacuum pump (38) is connected to the working chamber (18) and devices which serve to receive preparations to be freeze-dried, can be inserted into the interior of the working chamber (18) and connected to the interior of the chamber are provided. <IMAGE>
