The invention relates to a connecting system which consists of two multiple couplings which are connected to one another by virtue of a medium, and in which each of the two multiple couplings is each equipped with coupling halves in the form of plates in which the plug and collar parts of the individual couplings carrying the medium are mounted, which coupling halves in the form of plates are held detachably with respect to one another by means of blocking-sphere locking in the coupling position, and are held centred by pegs with respect to one another; the invention proposes especially for simplified handling that the two detachable coupling halves (8, 10), in the form of plates, of the two multiple couplings (I, II) are arranged in 90 DEG alignment with respect to one another on a common, rigid support (T), at least during the coupling process, and one coupling half (8) of the two coupling halves (8, 10) in the form of plates can be moved relative to the support (T) in the 90 DEG direction with respect to the extent of the individual couplings (24) of the other coupling half (7). <IMAGE>
