PURPOSE:To prevent a photographic emulsion from sticking to the wall of a preserving vessel when the emulsion is preserved in the vessel, by specifying the correlation between the amount of an org. solvent in the emulsion and the concn. of gelatin. CONSTITUTION:When a photographic emulsion is prepd. using silver halide, gelatin, etc., an org. solvent which doubles as a preservative such as methanol or acetone is added so as to dissolve or disperse photographic additives such as coloring matter and a stabilizer. The concn. Y (vol%) of gelatin in the emulsion and the amount X (vol%) of the org. solvent added are regulated so as to satisfy equations I, II (where A=0.15-0.2 and b=0.5-1.5). The prepd. photographic emulsion does not stick to the wall of a vessel of polyethylene or the like during preservation in the vessel. |
