PURPOSE:To make it possible to indicate the order of colors to be thermally transferred, by mounting a color indication means, a means for detecting the color of an ink sheet and a means for aligning the position of the ink sheet to a thermal transfer part on the basis of signals from both means. CONSTITUTION:To an apparatus performing color printing by passing an ink sheet, to which a plurality of color inks are applied successively and continuously, and paper through the thermal transfer part between a thermal head and a platen roller, a means 32 for selecting a color to be transferred at first to indicate the same, a color discriminating means 33 for detecting the marks 30a- 30c applied to the ink sheet 4 by a sensor 31 to discriminate the same, the wind- up apparatus 6 of the ink sheet 4 for aligning the position of the ink sheet 4 corresponding to the signal outputted from said means 33 and a control apparatus 34 are provided. By this mechanism, even when jamming is generated in the ink sheet or the paper and printing is stopped, printing is reopened in a predetermined color order and color tone can be made constant and the intentional alteration of the color order is enabled. |
