Novel poly-iodated compounds of general formula (I), in which R1, R2 the same or different, denote a group of formula (a) and R3 and R4, the same or different, denote a group of formula (b) with R1, R2, R3 and R4 comprising a total of at least ten hydroxy groups. The compounds according to the invention are for use as contrast products in radiography. The invention also concerns a process for the preparation of said compounds and a contrast product containing same.
