PURPOSE:To automatically zoom a camera by making use of the line of sight of a photographer. CONSTITUTION:A photographic lens 2 is mounted on the object side of the camera 1, a finder system 3, a focusing system 4 and a line of sight detecting system 5 are installed in the camera 1. The finder system 3 is provided with a prism 7 provided with a dichroic mirror 6, two infrared ray emitting diodes 9a and 9b are installed in front of photographer's eye-ball E. And also, the focusing system 4 consists of a line image sensor and a signal processing circuit, and the line of sight detecting system 5 is installed on the side of the prism 7, and the system 5 consists of an image sensor and a signal processor. The outputs of the line of sight detecting system 5 and the focusing system 4 are connected with a controller 10, and the output of the controller 10 is connected with a focusing device 11 and a zoom setting device 12. Light emitted from the infrared ray emitting diodes 9a and 9b and reflected on the eye-ball E is inputted to the line of sight detecting system 5 through the dichroic mirror 6, and the photographic lens 2 is driven through the zoom setting device 12 by the arithmetic operation by the controller 10. |
