Push-button switch

A push-button switch is described which consists essentially of a key button and a switching element having a plurality of contact points, and in which the key button has a specific number of control areas. The control areas allow the push-button switch to switch, for example, eight or nine or more different functions using only one key button. In order to prevent incorrect control operations, the contact points allocated to the control areas can be electrically linked in a specific manner. The allocation of the apparatus switching function to a specific control area takes place via an evaluation circuit.
