PURPOSE:To make a speed high as a size of a copying paper becomes larger and as a magnification rate of the time of a variable lagnification becomes larger, and to shorten the copying time by making a non-exposure scanning speed variable at the time of a return motion of an exposure scanning means. CONSTITUTION:When a CPU53 decides that a copying paper is that of A3 size by a signal from a cassette sensor 58, a signal of a fact that a going motion speed of an exposure lamp and a return motion speed are set to VFa and VR9, respectively, is outputted by the storage contents of a ROM54. The exposure lamp executes a scan at a speed of VFa and VR9 at the time of the going motion and at the time of the return motion, respectively. The scan time required for one reciprocating motion in this case becomes tF9+tR9, and the timing of the return motion time and the feed paper time coincide roughly with each other. In case the copying paper is A4 size, a signal of a fact that the going motion speed and the return motion speed of the exposure lamp are set to VF9 and VR10, respectively, is outputted, and the exposure lamp executes a scan at this speed, a relation of VFa=VFb and VR9>VR10 is formed, the scan time required for one reciprocating motion becomes tF10+tR10, the timings of the return motion time tR10 and the feed paper time tP coincide with each other, the copying end time of one sheet and the feed paper operation end time coincide roughly with each other, and it is realized that the magnification copying is exexecuted at a high speed. |
