PURPOSE:To effect stabilized melting at all times in spite of the grain size and the quantity of processing of powdered material by a method wherein a combustion section, provided with a type in which the powdered material is transported by the stream of hot air to burn it under being whirled, is equipped in the furnace. CONSTITUTION:The powdered material, obtained from dehydrated sludge through a hot air pulverizing and drying machine 22, is supplied from a blower 29, a material supplying pipe 7 and a material injection pipe 6 into the furnace body 1 under whirling it by combustion hot air. The material is burnt by the heat of a burner 2 at the tip end of the furnace body 1 and incinerated ash is molten to obtain molten slug while the slug is moved to the outlet port 9 of the furnace at the base section of the furnace body 1. A hot air injection pipe 10 is provided at a position near the outlet port 9 of the furnace to form high-temperature air curtain without hindering the whirling stream. |
