PURPOSE:To correct the detection error of the displacement in the third axis direction by determining the correction value corresponding to the displacement detection error in the third axis direction due to the stylus displacement in the first axis direction or the second axis direction or both axis directions based on the detection signals in the first axis direction and the second axis direction. CONSTITUTION:Displacement detection signals eX, eY, eZ in the X, Y, Z axis directions of a stylus 1 detected by a tracer head 8 are entered into a tracer control device 16 after the signal eZ is corrected to eZ' via a function generator 15, and the control device 16 feeds speed command signals VX, VY, VZ to a main spindle head drive unit 17 based on the displacement signals eX, eY, eZ'. Next, the head drive unit 17 controls the motion of a main spindle head by receiving these signals. That is, a servo mechanism is constituted with the main spindle head 9, the tracer head 8, and the tracer control device 16 and is controlled so that the synthetic displacement quantity of the displacement signals eX, eY and correction value eZ' of the stylus becomes a constant value, and a ball end mill 12 can be precisely shifted along the model profile. |
