The invention relates to a moulding composition containing a hard matrix A essentially comprising a polymer of a vinylaromatic monomer in a proportion of from 70 to 95 % by weight, based on the moulding composition of A+B, and a soft phase B, distributed therein, in a proportion of from 5 to 30 % by weight, based on the moulding composition of A+B, which has a mean particle size in the range from 0.1 to 1.5 mu m (number average). The soft phase is a graft copolymer comprising the vinylaromatic monomer of the polymer building up the hard matrix and an elastomeric styrene-butadiene two-block copolymer. The vinylaromatic monomer for building up the hard matrix A comprises ring-alkylated styrenes such that the soft phase B contains more than 70% (number average) of shell particles.
