In order to avoid the technical disadvantages of the known processes for producing non-releasable pipe joints, such as bead formation and concomitant reduction in pipe cross-section, bending of the axis of the parts to be joined and the random nature of complete joints of pipe and socket in the electric welding sleeve, in the process according to the invention the pipe (2) and socket (1) are conically calibrated and completely joined together by means of an inserted welding platelet (3) provided with a heating wire, without the possibility of the axis tilting on account of the contact pressure (6) acting perpendicular to the weld surface and without bead formation. Apart from these technical advantages, working time is saved by the simplicity of the process in contrast to conventional processes.
