PURPOSE:To prevent an ink film from becoming twisted or creased by peeling off an ink film and a paper stuck by printing from each other after forward- feeding them to a peeling section as they are and then feeding the paper backward. CONSTITUTION:An ink film consisting of plural different color coats of ink applied repeatedly and this film and a paper, overlapped, are caused to pass through a printing section with only a certain color ink transferred thermally. After this, the paper is fed backward and is subjected to repeated thermal transfer of other color inks after being overlapped with such color parts of the ink film. In this thermal transfer color printer, a printing head 6 and a platen 2 are caused to pass in a condition where the paper and the ink film are overlapped so that thermal transfer printing is performed. Next, both are forward-fed to a peeling section B as they are adhered to each other closely. During this process, the ink is fixed by cooling and the ink film 5 is caused to peel off the paper 1 by a peel-off roller 8 in the peeling section B. Following this procedure, the paper 1 is fed backward. |
