The invention discloses a device for contactless, optoelectronic measurement of torque which has two annular discs made from glass and having equal or slightly offset grating rulings. In this arrangement, one annular disc is assigned to the drive side, the second annular disc to the driven side. The two annular discs are scanned optoelectronically. In the case of torque fluctuations, the incremental rulings are displaced relative to one another, bright/dark fluctuations being produced which are converted by the optoelectronic receiver into current or voltage. <IMAGE>
