A spring core of a seat cushion of a seat of a motor vehicle is proposed which has in each case at the edges a stabilisation wire which is aligned predominantly in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and extends from a frame section which lies at the rear and at the bottom to an upper spring section arranged in front of it, which spring section forms part of a frame. So that the stabilisation wire, which prevents floating, can also be used as a component which limits edge-side spring-deflection movements, the section which extends upwards to the frame and runs below the latter includes a wedge cutout with the frame.
