A device for charging a heating boiler or furnace with material to be burned or waste which can be cut comprises a first driven feed worm conveyor and, lying below it and leading to the heating boiler or furnace, a second feed worm conveyor, there being provided between the two worm conveyors a driven revolving sluice which, on conveying the material to be burned into the boiler or furnace, constantly seals the combustion chamber to the atmosphere so that no back-burning and, in the event of explosion, no fire risk either can arise. The revolving sluice has radial walls, the radially outermost edges of which are provided with cutting mechanisms. The cutting mechanism ensures additional reduction in size of material to be burned which is too coarse and prevents blocking, in particular when it reaches into the range of action of the first feed worm conveyor arranged above.
