PURPOSE:To attain the shift of a carriage to the optimum position when the print of the next line is started by using a processing means for print data of the next line to calculate the data on the print position of the next line in response to the print data of the next line stored in a reception buffer memory. CONSTITUTION:When the print data equivalent to the 1st line is received by the 1st reception buffer 10, the print data P1 is sent to an editing part 24 for production of the editing print data E including the print start position, etc. The data E is transferred to a print part 23 through a gate circuit 25 for print of the data equivalent to the 1st line. The print data on the next line is received by the 2nd reception buffer 11. When the print data P2 on the next line is received, the indication of this data is sent to a calculation part 20 for print data on the next line. Then the data D on the next line is transferred to a print part 23. The part 23 receives the data D from a gate circuit 21 before the print is through with the 1st line and then shifts a carriage to the print start position optimum to the print action of the next line without stopping the shift of the carriage after the print is through with the data D. |
