PURPOSE:To obtain an image having high gradient, by a melting transfer method wherein different quantities of heat are supplied to a plurality of picture elements from the surface of a coloring matter imparting layer contacted with a coloring matter receiving layer and the surface thereof in the opposite side to transfer dye or colored fine particles to the coloring matter receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:A coloring matter imparting layer 3 capable of being melted at 50-150 deg.C and constituted of colored fine particles 5a, 5b...5n and a binder 6 and a coloring matter receiving layer 4 such as paper are superposed and the quantities of heat to be supplied of heat supply bodies 1a, 1b are changed. A limited amount of coloring matter is transferred to the coloring matter receiving layer corresponding to the quantity of heat supplied to the heat supply bodies 1 to obtain an image with good gradient. |
