PURPOSE:To provide the titled binder excellent in mechanical aptitude in high speed coating, having good dispersibility of a dye and a coupler and suitable for a thermal means such as a thermal printer, constituted by containing a water- soluble resin prepared by modifying PVA with aldehydes. CONSTITUTION:Perfectly or partially saponified PVA is dissolved in water or dispersed in an org. solvent (e.g., methyl alcohol or acetone) and modified with aldehydes, pref., in the presence of an acidic catalyst (pref., hydrochloric acid) to prepare an objective binder containing a water-soluble resin. EFFECT:This binder generates no blocking and excellent in color forming sensitivity, water resistance and solvent resistance. |
