PURPOSE:To improve the safety against the failure of blocking diodes by a method wherein the blocking diodes are formed by series connection in a plurality in a matrix-driven type amorphous Si image sensor. CONSTITUTION:Many amorphous Si image sensor elements 10 are arranged in an array on a substrate. A plurality of blocking diodes 11 are formed easy by connection to every image sensor element 10. The image sensor element 10 with the connection of blocking diodes are divided into a plurality of blocks and matrix-driven by common terminals 12 and discrete terminals 13. Such a connection of blocking diodes in series in a plurality enables the function of diodes on the other side even when those on one side come into failure; therefore, the safety against the failure of blocking diodes can be improved. |
