PURPOSE:To expose a copying paper conveying part to the outside so that the operation for removing a paper jam is made easy by constituting a picture image forming unit consisting essentially of a photosensitive body in such a manner that said unit can be moved backward of a copying machine body. CONSTITUTION:An operator turns a conveyance releasing layer 62 in an arrow A2 direction to retreat a transfer charger 44 and a separating charger 45 from a photosensitive drum 41 when the paper jam arises. The image forming unit U is then moved backward from the rear of the copying machine body 1. The substantial part of the copying paper conveying part 3 can be thereby exposed to the outside and therefore the release of the copying paper conveying part owing to the jam can be easily executed. The unit U, the charger 44 and the charger 45 are held in the home positions when the operator rotates the lever 62 in the direction opposite from the arrow A2 after the operator sets the unit U in the position where the front supporting wall 51 thereof is made approximately flush with the vertical front plate 18 upon completion of the operation. The operation for eliminating the paper jam is thus made easy. |
