CHANGING METHOD OF DOWN COILER FOR CONTINUOUS HOT ROLLING

PURPOSE:To coil rolling stock at stock intervals of a short period at a high speed by improving plural down coilers which cut the rolling stock after finish rolling in a hot rolling line at the joint parts and coil said stock. CONSTITUTION:Auxiliary installations 10 consisting of main pinch rolls 2, slab passage guides 3, auxiliary pinch rolls 4 and take-up guides 5 are provided on the inlet sides of the respective down coilers 1 except the final down coiler. An auxiliary installation 11 exclusive of the main pinch rolls 2 is provided on the inlet side of the final down coiler 1. The downstream side down coilers 1 and auxiliary installations 10, 11 are set in the state A ready for coiling while the rolling stock is coiled by the coiler 1. The succeeding rolling stock is coiled by the downstream side coiler 1 and the upstream side coiler 1 and the installation 10 are set in the state B for slab passage upon ending of the coiling with the coiler 1. The stage is thus progressed downward toward the downstream side. The stage is successively progressed upward toward the upstream side after the coiling with the final coiler 1 ends.
