PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of displacer thus to reduce the inertia and to improve the engine efficiency by employing a displacer constructed with rings coupled through a partitioner. CONSTITUTION:A displacer 21 of such structure as the circumference is formed with rings coupled through a partitioner is provided in an enclosed container 22. The space in the displacer cylinder 24 confined by the displacer rod 23 secured to the partitioner is employed as gas spring 26. Upon upward motion of the displacer 21, the working fluid in the expansion space 15 will move through a heater 16, a regenerator 18 and a cooler 17 into the compression space 19 to reduce the average pressure thus to pull the power piston 25 upward. While upon upward motion of the displacer 21, the differential pressure between the gas spring 26 and the expansion space 15 will cause downward motion of the displacer 21 to move the working fluid into the expansion space 15 thus to increase the average pressure and to pull down the power piston 25. |
