EXCHANGE DEVICE OF SERIAL COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT

PURPOSE:To transmit data to an optional channel from another optional channel through a simple device by connecting various peripheral devices having standard interfaces for serial communication to an exchange device and by means of a simple protocol for request of transmission. CONSTITUTION:Serial communication devices 3 and 4 are connected to a CPU2 of a switchboard 1 of a serial circuit via an internal bus 7. The transmission/ reception of serial data supplied from communication circuits CH1-CH4 of four circuits are supported by ports 3A and 3B of devices 3 and 4 respectively. While a device MTSP5 for multi-task control connected to a bus 7 informs the CPU2 the timing for time division control of channels CH1-CH4. Then plural tasks that send on time division basis the data sent from each transmission channel to a designated reception channel are stored in a control program 6 connected to the bus 7 in the form of an ROM. Then the CPU2 controls the entire system. Thus the data given from an optional channel is transmitted to another channel through a simple device.
