PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of a brazing gap and to simplify an operating for setting base metals by providing preliminarily partial projections to at least one of the base metals and pressing the top ends of the projections to the opposite base metal. CONSTITUTION:The partial projections 3 projecting by a specified length from the joint surface 1a of one base metal 1 are disposed respectively to both side edges at one end of said base metal. The top ends 3a of both projections 3 are then pressed to the opposite base metal 2 to form the brazing gap 4 between the joint surfaces 1a and 2a of the metals 1, 2. A brazing filler metal 5 is packed into the gap 4 and after said metal is melted by heating, unnecessary parts 6 including the projections 3 are removed and a product 7 is obtd. Since the projections 3 are preliminarily and exactly worked, the accuracy of the gap 4 is improved and therefore there is no decrease in the strength as a result of unwelding. The operation for setting the base metals prior to the brazing is simplified. |
