摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce NOx and the fuel consumption while to improve the firing performance by providing means for feeding a portion of exhaust gas into the cylinder and means for incrementing the fuel to be injected from fuel injection control means. CONSTITUTION:An ignition plug 11 is arranged above the cylinder 4 while fuel injection control means 37 for injecting fuel through fuel injection valves 19, 20 is provided. Exhaust gas feeding means 30 will feed a portion of exhaust gas into the cylinder 4 under low load. While exhaust gas supply control means 38 will finish exhaust gas supply through exhaust gas supply means 30 predetermined time before. During the time interval from the finish of exhaust gas supply to the finish of fuel injection, fuel increment means 39 will increment the fuel to be injected through fuel injection control means 37 more than that when the exhaust gas supply is not yet finished. Consequently, the firing performance can be improved while reducing NOx and the fuel consumption.
